The Church

Williams Trace Baptist Church= I hesitate to possibly put our current churches name down because they are proposing a church name. This is not on because of any animosity among members but because Williams Trace Baptist Church is not on Williams Trace, it’s actually kind of on Sweetwater Rd. We are contemplating calling it The Baptist Church At Sweetwater. I definitely love this chuch because we have gotten involved in a group of folks who are completely so down to earth and real about their lives and faith. It’s great to learn and move in this church.

Yorktown Baptist Church = This is our church that we attended while we were in Corpus Christi. We were involved with the Young Married and Engaged couples Sunday school class. The friends that we have met in this church have been an amazing net of encouragement and support.

Baptist Church of the Redeemer =This church was started by my dear friend Travis Cardwell. Travis was my mentor and married Corrie and I in our wedding. Travis has since being at Redeemer has been able to obtain his masters degree in Divinity from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary and is partaking in launching this church with his friend Jim Hamilton.

The ministry of John Piper = Friends of mine have long been fans of John Piper, and as peer pressure works, so have I. Piper’s sermons are so focused, and I have never met a pastor who could spend 10+ years doing sermons over the book of Romans.

First Baptist Church of Liberty = My first “home church,” FBC-Liberty was where I became the man that I am today. They say that a member is a mirror image of the church that he attends. I loved this church and gave it my all for many years. I hope in their transition time from Bro. Jerry Johnson, that they are able to pick back up and be as vibrant as they were when I was there.
